TalkSport journalist Alex Crook has said live on air that Everton will rival Nottingham Forest for Joe Rodon. The Tottenham defender will be allowed to leave this summer, with the World Cup on the horizon.
Rodon, 24, needs to be playing regularly. Last season he slipped way down the radar at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, making just 10 appearances in the senior ranks.
The Swansea-born talent was signed from the Swans in 2020. Steve Cooper was in charge at the Liberty Stadium when Tottenham parted with £11 million to sign the defender.

Rodon has struggled for game time since arriving at Tottenham in truth. He’s made just 24 appearances in two years at the club and he will be champing at the bit to play.
Now he looks set to be allowed out. Everton boss Frank Lampard is desperate for some low cost signings and Rodon checking in on loan makes a lot of sense for the Goodison Park outfit.
Forest will fancy their chances too, however, especially, with Cooper in charge. He previously raved about the player, calling him ‘fantastic’ back in February 2020.
Rodon was viewed as a fine young central defender during his time in Wales. His move to Tottenham came as little surprise given his undoubted potential.
Everton rival Forest for Rodon and the Reds need to act
The Reds will definitely target a new central defender this summer. Scott McKenna, Steve Cook and Joe Worrall should all get the chance to prove their worth, however.
In reserve there is very little though. Tobias Figueiredo has joined Hull, whilst Jonathan Panzo and Loic Mbe Soh are deemed as ones for the future and remain very raw.

Rodon would be the ideal player to come in. He could slot into the middle of the back thre with ease; allowing Cook to act as backup in Cooper’s squad.
Everton will have very little to spend this summer. They’re in a bit of a pickle financially and Lampard will need to work on a shoestring this summer – unless any major sales take place.
Signing Rodon on loan with a view to a permanent deal makes a lot of sense. As a result, Forest must act quickly to secure the £24,000-a-week Wales international.
