Nottingham Forest are set to complete the signing of Giulian Biancone from Ligue 1 outfit Troyes, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Reds are set to ramp up their recruitment drive this month as they aim to compete in the Premier League.

Biancone made 33 appearances for the French club last season, scoring one goal and claiming two assists.

Interestingly, the Frenchman can operate anywhere across the back four as he did last season.

Biancone is a fiesty performer. During 2021/22 he was cautioned 11 times during his 33 outings and he’s not afraid to get stuck in.

At 22-years-old, the former Monaco defender perhaps is one for the future, whilst his versatility could be massive.

The Reds will want to add depth to their squad and first-team quality and this signing will add that.

This will be just one of many signings that Forest hope to make before the summer transfer window closes.

After promotion was secured via the play-offs they haven’t had much time to try and plan their squad for next season.

With players now slowly starting to come off their holidays, July looks set to be an extremely busy month.

Biancone looks set to join and he certainly won’t be the last to join before the month is out.

Forest to complete Biancone signing and it’s an interesting one

It’s intriguing that Biancone hasn’t really been mentioned until it seems he’s close to joining the club.

Romano is pretty reliable when it comes to these types of things and it can be expected that Biancone will sign on the dotted line.

The former France under-19 player spent most of last season playing as a right-sided centre-back but he will fill in anywhere.

Interestingly, Forest have been heavily linked with Issa Kabore from Manchester City and he spent last season with Biancone at Troyes.

As a result, landing the utility man might help smooth that particular deal through in the coming weeks.
