Giulian Biancone has signed for Nottingham Forest this afternoon and the French defender can’t wait to get going.
He’s been discussing why he chose the City Ground for his next move with the club’s official website.
Biancone has checked in from Troyes on a long-term contract having cost around £5 million from the Ligue 1 outfit.
The former France under-19 performer made his mark on the Troyes senior ranks last season after spending two years on loan with Cercle Brugge.
Biancone is a very versatile performer. He spent the majority of time playing as a right-sided central defender last season; although he can play in either wing-back role.
The youngster isn’t a household name. This is the new era at Forest though and you can bet that Biancone has been meticulously scouted by the recruitment team.
During 2021/ 22, the utility man made 33 appearances in the French top-flight, scoring once and claiming two assists.
Now, he will embark on a new era with Forest and he will be keen to grasp his Premier League opportunity with both hands.
Biancone has signed and he’s delighted to be at the City Ground
The newest Reds star has spoken of his delight at joining Forest.
He told the club’s official website: “I am happy to arrive at a club like Nottingham Forest after a good experience with Troyes.
“I know it’s a big club, very known across Europe and I’m very excited to join with its great fan base and history.
“Having spoken to the head coach, it’s clear that there are exciting times ahead and I’m looking forward to joining up with my new teammates.”
Biancone checks in and Forest might have signed a gem
At 22, the young defender fits the bill of a player that fits the remit of Dane Murphy very nicely.
He will have significant sell-on value and his versatility could make him a huge asset.
Steve Cooper likes his players to adapt to different positions and naturally that could make Biancone a useful addition.
The Frenchman will be hoping to hit the ground running and cement his place in the team as quickly as possible.
