Dale Taylor has signed a new contract with Nottingham Forest, the club have confirmed on their official website.

The youngster is a highly-rated member of the youth academy and looks set for a bright future.

Last season he was instrumental as the Reds reached the FA Youth Cup Final where they lost to Manchester United.

The 18-year-old signed for Forest from Linfield in July 2020 and he’s growing as a player at a frantic rate.

Taylor was handed a shock call-up into the Northern Ireland senior ranks during 2021/22.

He made his debut against Lithuania in November and was also an unused substitute against European champions Italy.

Furthermore, Taylor’s form didn’t escape the attention of Steve Cooper.

He was handed a place on the bench against Swansea in April as the Reds defeated the head coach’s former club 5-1.

Taylor featured largely for the under-18s last season as he fought his way back from an early-season injury.

Next season is likely to see him take a step up and Andy Reid will hope he can star in his under-23 ranks.

Contract signed by Taylor and Forest have a talent

Shortly after signing his new deal, the striker made some comments on the official website.

He’s delighted and said: “It’s an unbelievable feeling to sign for another three years with this massive football club.

“I can’t wait to see what these next three years hold for me.

“This season, I will continue to work hard, try to break into the first team and hopefully get my debut.”

Taylor has penned a three-year deal on Trentside.

He looks like a major star of the future and Forest have done well to get him tied down to a contract extension.

The young Northern Irishman seems like an ambitious player.

As a result, he will hope to be making his mark on the first team sooner rather than later.
