The long list of Nottingham Forest transfer targets is showing no sign of getting shorter, with Yusuf Yazici the latest name to be linked.

According to the Russian outlet Sport Express, the Reds are rivalling Fulham to sign the talented Turkish international.

Amid vast Premier League interest, Yazici made a surprise move from Trabzonspor to Lille in 2019.

The 2020/21 campaign proved fruitful for the winger in Ligue 1, with Yazici scoring 14 goals in all competitions.

Last season was more frustrating with the 25-year-old loaned out to CSKA Moscow during the midway stage of the campaign.

In Russia, he took the domestic league by storm and bagged eight goals from just 10 appearances.

Yazici even went on a run of seven successive games where he scored at least once and that’s alerted Premier League clubs.

Forest and Fulham are new to the Premier League and both are searching for new players.

Yazici’s agent has confirmed that both clubs are in discussion with Lille over the player who cost the French club £15 million three years ago.

The talented forward has earned praise from none other than Mesut Ozil in the past.

Speaking in 2018, via the Daily Mail, the former Arsenal man said: “I really like Yusuf Yazici, he’s an incredible talent.

“He’s an amazing number 10. We have a lot of similarities. His left foot, position, his close passing and calmness on the ball.”

Yazici linked with Forest and he could be ideal for the Reds

The versatile forward could prove a very useful addition indeed.

Forest and Fulham appear to be battling for the player and it could boil down to where the player wants to go.

It’s been an intriguing few years since signing for Lille for Yazici and he will want to kick on again.

Given that Forest are somewhat depleted when it comes to attackers, he may fancy his chances of holding down a regular place in the team.

Rumour ratings: 8/10 – We like the sound of this deal.

Yazici is capable of scoring goals and weighing in with assists.

His time in Russia saw him perform exceptionally well and he would come to the club full of confidence.

Steve Cooper will be eyeing lots of targets this summer but Yazici looks like an attractive one.
