Nottingham Forest are hoping to complete the signing of Liverpool talent Neco Williams by the weekend, according to The Telegraph.

The Reds have been on the hunt for a new right-sided wing-back and look to have made progress for Williams.

The 21-year-old had already agreed on personal terms with Forest and now a fee looks to have been negotiated with Liverpool.

It’s claimed that £16 million has seen the Reds get their man. There will also be a series of add-ons included in the deal.

Williams is keen to sign for Forest and is said to be relishing the prospect of working under Steve Cooper.

The Wales international will also link up with Brennan Johnson who he has played with previously for the national team.

Forest have finally got their man and the Liverpool player will fill the void being vacated by Djed Spence.

He returned to Middlesbrough following his loan spell and is set to be unveiled as a Tottenham player soon.

That means that Williams will have some big boots to fill when he is announced as a new Forest addition.

Having played 33 times for Liverpool, he will be up for the challenge and it will be interesting to see how he develops under Cooper.

Klopp has previously heaped praise on Williams and he will perhaps be sad to be leaving Liverpool.

He called him a machine two years ago and praised the player for his work rate when it came to training.

Cooper clearly sees something in the Liverpool man and that will be good enough for lots of supporters.

The Reds have now filled one position that was badly in need of addressing and that is pleasing.

Forest will want to ensure they are competitive during 2022/23 and signing players like Williams will definitely help.

Now some focus may go on the opposite side of the pitch, with Omar Richards set to sign from Bayern Munich too.

Williams has played 21 times for Wales and he will hope to star for Forest ahead of the World Cup in November.
