Nottingham Forest are expected to sign Omar Richards from Bayern Munich and The Telegraph has suggested how much he might cost.

The Reds are looking to bolster their ranks this summer, with Premier League football on the agenda for the first time in 23 years.

So far four players have been added. Taiwo Awoniyi, Dean Henderson, Giulian Biancone and Moussa Nikahate have all checked in.

Wing-backs are certainly required though. Djed Spence will be joining Tottenham, whilst Jack Colback will be viewed as a midfielder next season.

Richards made 17 appearances for Bayern last season. Just six of those came as starts though and he will be craving regular football.

The former Reading man is thought to be keen on a move to Forest. He, along with Liverpool man Neco Williams, could be signed by the weekend.

The Telegraph have explained that Richards is set to cost £8.5 million from Bayern. The Bavarian giants are keen to sell him and talks have already begun.

A left-sided wing-back is badly needed. Only Nicholas Ioannou currently has the natural experience of playing there and he will likely leave this summer.

The 24-year-old has plenty of experience in England. He played 104 times for Reading before joining Bayern on a free transfer this time last year.

Forest can sign Richards for £8.5m and he looks ideal for Steve Cooper

If the Reds faithful cast their minds back to 2018, they might remember Richards. He scored during a 1-1 draw against Reading at the City Ground when Aitor Karanka was in charge.

Lee Tomlin equalised for Forest that night and boy have things changed a bit since then. Forest are now fighting it out for Bayern players ahead of Premier League football.

Richards’ all-action style makes him ideal for a Cooper style of play. He loves his wing-backs to maraude forward and he’ll relish that responsibility.

At £8.5 million, he could represent a steal. As a result, Forest have to get this one sorted out fairly quickly.
