Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Omar Richards from Bayern Munich. The Reds are thought to have paid £8.5 million for the former Reading man.
Richards has left the Allianz Arena after just a single year playing for Bayern. He checked in on a free transfer during the summer of 2021 and played 17 times for the German champions.
Forest have got themselves a player who boasts energy and ability down the left-hand side. Richards is quality at both ends of the pitch and thrived at Reading where he came through the youth ranks.

During his time with the Berkshire-based club, he caught the eye of several clubs. He made 104 appearances and scored one of his three goals against Forest in 2018.
Richards leaves Bayern in search of regular first-team football. He did well to play 17 times in all competitions during 2021/22 but just six of those outings came in the starting eleven.
Forest have moved to strengthen their wing-back options. Neco Williams is set to sign for the club as a right-sided option and Richards should prove useful on the left.
The 24-year-old ticks plenty of boxes for Forest. He has bags of experience in senior football and perhaps crucially he should retain plenty of resale value.
Forest complete Richards signing and he could star
The Bayern man won’t have played as many times as he’d have liked last season. As a result, he will be ready to get his teeth stuck into his time at Forest.
Richards has bags of pace and as she showcased at Reading, he’s not afraid to help out with attacks down the left-hand side.

This looks like a very useful signing for the Reds. He is a massive upgrade on Max Lowe from last season and it means Jack Colback can focus on getting a shirt in midfield.
Richards will link up with his teammates ahead of a busy pre-season schedule. Forest travel to Burton Albion on Tuesday, before facing Barnsley at Oakwell on Saturday.
