PSG youngster Arnaud Kalimuendo rejected Nottingham Forest earlier this summer and he could now be set for Newcastle.

A report by Media Foot claims that the wealthy Premier League outfit are stepping up their attempts.

Kalimuendo is on the radar of several top-flight outfits. Leeds were also thought to be keen on snaring him from PSG.

The youngster is likely to cost in the region of £22 million and his loan spell at Lens last season has caught the eye.

He bagged 13 goals for the Ligue 1 outfit during 2021/22. Kalimuendo also bagged eight goals and claimed six assists for Lens during 2020/21 too.

Now, the Premier League awaits. Leicester City are also keen but Newcastle could place an attractive package on the table.

Eddie Howe has been given a bounty of cash to spend this summer, with new owners showing ambition at St James’ Park.

Kalimuendo would be a stellar capture for the Magpies and he looks set for a bright future in the game.

Forest tried to land the player shortly after winning promotion back to the Premier League for the first time in 23 years.

Kalimeundo wasn’t particularly keen on a move to Nottingham though and rejected the advances of Forest.

The PSG gem would have been a useful long-term replacement for the departed Lewis Grabban.

It wasn’t to be though and now the Reds will have to dip into their shortlist of targets once more.

It’s no surprise to see Newcastle go after a player like Kalimuendo given the talent he possesses.

The Magpies won’t be able to compete for the very best players in world football just yet and talented youngsters will be the order of the day.

Kalimuendo looks like a quality striker and he could light up the Premier League if he signs for Newcastle.

For Forest, they will look at the Frenchman in the future and wonder what might have been.
