Nottingham Forest and Everton are in talks over Aster Vranckx over a move to the Premier League this summer. According to French journalist Loic Tanzi, both clubs are hoping to sign the teenager before the transfer window closes.
Vranckx currently plays for Wolfsburg in Germany. He signed for the Bundesliga outfit last summer and made 28 appearances during his maiden campaign.
Now, he could be on his way out after just a single season. Forest and Everton are thought to have opened talks over a deal for the versatile central midfield player.

Prior to signing for Wolfsburg, he came through the youth ranks with KV Mechelen. There he emerged from the academy as a burgeoning talent, making 47 appearances for the first team.
Forest are in the market for new midfielders before the season starts. Vranckx can play in either defensive or attacking midfield roles and he’s drawn praise in recent times.
Wolfsburg coach Florian Kohfeldt said in December: “He is unexcited, courageous and allows himself to be played to in pressure situations. He plays like a 25-year-old.”
Furthermore, Everton and Forest aren’t the only Premier League clubs to show interest. Before he signed for Wolfsburg it was claimed that Liverpool were monitoring the youngster (Mirror).
They chose not to pursue his signature. It does, however, suggest that Vranckx is on the radar of plenty of clubs; with Forest one of the new names linked with his services.
Furthermore, Vranckx has played three times for the Belgium under-21 outfit. Currently, he’s the captain of the team and he will hope to collect more caps.
Forest in talks over Vranckx as midfield situation grows desperate
The Belgium-born starlet looks like he could be a useful addition. He gained experience in the Bundesliga last season and he looks set for a bright future.
It seems as though Everton and Forest are singing from the same hymn sheet in this window. Both clubs seem to be cropping up as being in the mix for a lot of players.
Forest are missing Ryan Yates for a month. As a result, the need for midfielders has intensified with Jack Colback, Cafu and Braian Ojeda the only midfield options.

Rumour rating: 7/10 – Certainly, this particular deal does tick a lot of boxes.
As a young player, he has years ahead of him and for his age, he does possess a fair bit of action in senior football.
Vranckx is something of an unknown quantity but he certainly has the attributes to become a decent addition to the Forest ranks.
