Djed Spence has posted an emotional message to Nottingham Forest supporters on Twitter before he was officially unveiled as a Tottenham player.

The Reds promotion-winner was in fine form last season. He made 44 appearances and helped Forest reclaim their place in the Premier League for the first time in 23 years.

Spence became a firm fan favourite. His all-action style has earned him the move to Tottenham and this will be a dream move for him.

Despite starring for the Reds, it was reported that the player had his heart set on a move to North London this summer.

Forest have moved quickly to fill the void left by Spence. Neco Williams has signed from Liverpool, whilst Giulian Biancone has joined from Troyes.

Spence signed for Forest from Middlesbrough in August 2021. At the time, the Reds had two right-backs on their books and the move was intriguing.

In no time at all, he showcased exactly why Forest wanted him. He worked tirelessly throughout the campaign and finished with five assists.

Spence has cost Tottenham £12.5 million and some add-ons will be included in the deal too.

On the face of things that seems like a great deal, especially if he continues his form from last season.

Spence posts emotional message to Forest fans

If we had a pound for every article we’d written about Spence and his pending Tottenham transfer, we’d be retired by now!

This is one saga that is now at an end and Forest fans will definitely wish Spence well for the future.

His message to the supporters is typically classy from the young England under-21 international.

He was keen to thank the Reds supporters and also claimed that he’s now a Reds follower for life.

Interestingly, he doesn’t mention Middlesbrough at all and clearly, the bridge has been burnt with the Championship outfit.

Forest fans will monitor the progress of Spence with intrigue and as a promotion-winner, he will forever sit in Reds folklore.
