Yorkshire Live journalist Steven Chicken has claimed that deals for Nottingham Forest to sign Lewis O’Brien and Harry Toffolo are back in progress.

It’s not just the weather that has reached boiling point today.

Journalists covering both Forest and Huddersfield are getting hot under the collar trying to keep on top of this saga.

None more so than Chicken.

He reported earlier that the deals were off but has now suggested that both players should be announced as Forest players.

The Reds are desperate to bolster their midfield.

As a result, the deal for O’Brien looks like the big one and getting that deal over the line would be useful.

Toffolo would be a decent signing but probably for different reasons.

The left-sided wing-back will likely start life at Forest as an option from the bench.

Steve Cooper has already signed Omar Richards from Bayern Munich this summer and costing £8.5 million he could be the first choice.

As we’ve already learnt today, Forest fans shouldn’t count their chickens yet.

This is the transfer window we are living in and as we’ve seen today things can change very quickly.

If Forest can get these deals over the line it will take their summer spending over £70 million.

What a day for this to be happening.

As if folks in Nottinghamshire aren’t hot and bothered enough with temperatures eclipsing 40 degrees, the O’Brien and Toffolo situation is becoming a real saga.

With O’Brien having already performed his media interview, that deal could be done quickly.

The situation with Toffolo does seem somewhat more complex.

He was said to have been unable to agree on personal terms with Forest, causing the deal to collapse.

Someone somewhere has got their wish and fans will now have their fingers crossed for a double signing.
