Nottingham Forest will step up their attempts to sign Morgan Gibbs-White once Orel Mangala has checked in, according to The Mirror.
The Reds head coach Steve Cooper is eyeing a reunion with a player that he managed at Swansea.
During the 2020/21 campaign, he was signed by the current boss, although a broken foot restricted him to just six appearances.
Gibbs-White has been impressive in recent times, with 2021/22 proving a particularly good season.
He scores 12 goals and claimed 10 assists as Sheffield United reached the play-offs before losing to Forest.

Now, he’s been busy preparing for the new campaign with Wolves where he’s stood out in pre-season.
Bruno Lage is receptive to him staying at the club but a firm offer from a club is likely to be considered.
It’s been claimed previously that it could take £30 million to land Gibbs-White, with Everton also keen.
The player doesn’t just have Championship experience on his CV and he’s also made 46 appearances for the Wolves in the Premier League.
He’s netted three goals during 86 games in total for Wolves, including one against Forest in last year’s Carabao Cup.
Wolves have offered Gibbs-White a new deal but the report claims that Forest are now trying hard to prise him away.
Former Forest striker David McGoldrick is a huge fan. Last season he said that the player had ‘the world at his feet’ and Danny Murphy previously called him ‘sensational’.
Forest step up Gibbs-White attempts and he’d be amazing signing
The Reds are still perhaps short of a bit of quality in the final third and new players will still be required.
A solid number 10 has been added in Jesse Lingard but perhaps more options will be required.
Given the money that it would take for Forest to land Gibbs-White, he certainly wouldn’t be signed as a backup option.
The versatile attacker looks tailor-made to play under Cooper and perhaps it’s a move the player wants.

Gibbs-White could also act as an option to play as a centre-forward for Forest.
He featured as a striker in the play-off semi-final second leg against Forest last season; scoring in the game at the City Ground.
Gibbs-White has a really high season. As a result, supporters will hope that this latest report proves to be accurate.
