Nottingham Forest target Crysencio Summerville has ended speculation over his future by signing a new contract with Leeds United. The extension was confirmed by the club’s official website on Tuesday morning.
The Reds were linked with a move for the Dutch winger earlier this summer. He did have just a year to run on his existing deal and has so far been unable to hold down a regular place in the Whites’ first team.
Summerville is an exciting winger who can play on either side. He typically prefers operating on the right, however, and might have proved useful for Forest.

The 20-year-old has made nine appearances for the Leeds senior ranks. Whether or not Jesse Marsch chooses to utilise him next season remains to be seen.
Nonetheless, this is a positive step in the right direction. Leeds wouldn’t have wanted to lose a talented youngster to a Premier League rival ahead of the new season.
The player has signed a long-term extension. Now, the challenge for him will be to keep himself fit and hold down a place in the Leeds team under Marsch.
Summerville was signed by Leeds from Feyenoord in 2020. He also has the same agent as Neco Williams and Scott McKenna in being represented by Wasserman.
Summerville ends Forest speculation
In truth, this was always a long shot. Not because Summerville wouldn’t have departed Leeds, but it’d have been unlikely that he’d have been a regular in the team at Forest either.
The Reds would have welcomed Summevile for sure. But, he’d have been added to the ranks with one eye on the future and might have been with the under-23s in the short term.

Now, the Dutch talent will remain at Elland Road. He has penned a deal that will see him remain with the club until 2026 and he will hope to win a proper chance.
As a winger, Summerville is exciting. Marsch is a manager renowned for handing youth a chance and naturally, that might have played into his decision-making.
Forest will now move on. Their list of targets will be extensive and hopefully, an attacking player or two can be added before the window slams shut.
