Southampton have received an official approach from a Premier League club for Nottingham Forest-linked forward Che Adams. According to Mike McGrath of The Telegraph, interest is rife this summer in the versatile forward this summer.
Forest are desperate to add to their attacking ranks. Morgan Gibbs-White, Alex Moreno and Andrea Pinamonti have all been linked with moves to Trentside this summer and Forest haven’t completed their business just yet.
No fewer than 12 new players have been added. Steve Cooper has been hard at work since Forest won promotion to the Premier League. His team defeated Huddersfield 1-0 in the Championship Play-Off Final at Wembley Stadium.

Now, Adams is on the radar. He’s been with Southampton for three years; transferring from Birmingham City in 2019 for £15 million.
The 26-year-old can play in a number of positions. Last season he made 33 appearances for the Saints, scoring eight goals and becoming a frequent inclusion in the Scotland setup under Steve Clarke.
He typically operated as a centre-forward. The former Ilkeston Town youngster can operate as a number 10, however, whilst he’s spent some time playing on the flanks earlier in his career.
The report doesn’t claim that Forest are the club that has made the offer. Interest looks rife though and if the club seriously wants Adams, they may need to act quickly to secure a deal.
Southampton receive Adams approach and Forest could do a lot worse
Proven Premier League experience is still a bit thin on the ground in the Forest dressing room. As a result, signing Adams does make a lot of sense from their perspective.
The Reds need to move quickly with this one. It would appear that interest in the forward is high and other clubs might declare their interest.

Forest would be signing a player proven in the top-flight. He’s made 96 appearances in the top division, scoring 20 goals and he’s not always been considered the first choice at that.
The £52,000-a-week Adams has been praised by Ally McCoist in recent times. He labelled him a ‘clever player’ and ‘terrific’ following a Scotland game last season.
