Nottingham Forest have been linked with Jizz Hornkamp but Willem II are claiming there has been no contact over a potential transfer.

The transfer rumours show no sign of ending for Forest, even after securing 11 first-team additions this summer.

Atalanta midfielder Remo Freuler continue to be linked with Forest whilst Morgan Gibbs-White is also on the radar.

There are other names in the mix and one rumour left fans giggling as if Forest were signing a character from South Park.

Nottingham Forest have been linked with Jizz Hornkamp

Yes, that is his actual name; Jizz Hornkamp is a player allegedly on Forest’s radar.

The Athletic reported just a matter of days ago that Forest were targeting a deal to sign Willem II attacker Hornkamp.

Hornkamp, 24, was in the Ajax ranks for eight years before heading to AZ Alkamarr and Heerenveen.

A prolific spell of 25 goals in 55 games for Den Bosch followed and Willem II were more than happy to snap him up in January.

Four goals in 13 outings for Willem II has now attracted Forest’s interest, but there seems to be some confusion over in the Netherlands.

Willem II technical director Teun Jacobs has told Brabants Dagblad that he hasn’t spoken to anybody about a deal for Hornkamp and certainly nobody from Forest.

Jacobs noted that this is a ‘ghost story’ or that Forest have yet to formalise their interest, with no deal in the pipeline as it stands.

Jacobs added that Willem II don’t want to sell Hornkamp and will tell Forest that if they do make an approach for the Dutch attacker.

“I haven’t had one second of contact with anyone about a transfer of Jizz,” said Jacobs. “Not with him, not with his agent and not with any club whatsoever. So there is no truth in that. I really don’t know where this is coming from. Either this is a ghost story, or Nottingham Forest have yet to report to me.”

“If they call me? I’ll pick up and tell them Jizz is not for sale. Unless, and that goes for every player, of course, a huge amount is on the table. But it’s clear: in principle, we don’t want to let anyone go,” he added.

Forest have added one new striker this summer in Taiwo Awoniyi but another one will certainly be needed.

Lewis Grabban has been released whilst Keinan Davis has left the club to return to Aston Villa.

Whether it’s Hornkamp or anybody else, look for Forest to sign another striker in the coming weeks.
