Nottingham Forest have been linked with Marseille forward Bamba Dieng. Newcastle are also monitoring the situation and Fabrizio Romano believed that talks will continue in the next few days.

The transfer guru claims that two Premier League clubs are keen on signing the winger. He doesn’t mention them, however, and it will be interesting to see who the clubs are.

The 22-year-old is a wanted man this summer. He has just two years remaining on his existing deal and Marseille might see this as the time to cash in.

At £13 million, he could represent a steal. The youngster came of age a bit during 2021/22, scoring eight goals and laying on a further eight in the way of assists.

Dieng has a great deal of versatility. Last season he showcased that attribute by playing as a striker, a number 10 and on the left wing throughout the campaign.

Bamba appears ready to leave Marseille. He is desperate to continue playing regular first-team football and perhaps that would help the Reds land him.

Newcastle will be chasing a European place this season. As a result, he could see his chances restricted, with Eddie Howe boasting a very talented squad of players.

This definitely hands the Reds a boost. Now, it will be interesting to see if Forest are one of the clubs that are interested in signing him.

It’s a move that would make a great deal of sense. Dieng is quick, skilful and would be a useful player for the future should he sign for the club.

The player could have other options to choose from. Forest might be an attractive option though given their summer spending.

A chance to play in the Premier League would be one that surely he would grasp. It seems likely that he’s likely to have two options to choose from in the coming weeks.

Forest would definitely welcome some more attacking quality and Dieng could put the Reds one step closer to finalising their squad.
