Nottingham Forest are finally set to complete the signing of Morgan Gibbs-White from Wolves, John Percy has confirmed.

The Reds are set to bring an end to their summer pursuit by making the attacker their 16th summer signing.

Gibbs-White has played 90 minutes in both of Wolves’ games so far this season but they’ve now decided to sell him.

The versatile forward starred last season on loan at Sheffield United, where he scored 12 goals and claimed 10 assists.

Forest were sick of the sight of him during 2021/22. He scored in the Carabao Cup against the Reds for Wolves and twice against them for the Blades.

Gibbs-White had looked to be staying at Molineux. Bruno Lage had made no secret of his desire to keep him at the club.

It would appear that their summer business had twisted his arm to offload the player who has worked with Steve Cooper before.

Wolves added Goncalo Guedes to their ranks last week and he will likely become a regular starter at the club.

Gibbs-White looks like a very useful signing for the club. He will sign for a fee of around £35 million and a medical is set for today.

The Athletic claims that the deal could be worth £44.5 million in the long run once add-ons have been included in the deal.

The Reds are getting themselves a quality addition. Cooper called him ‘fantastic’ after signing him on loan for Swansea and made him his number one target for this summer.

Now, he’s got his wish. Gibbs-White will become the club’s record signing and naturally, fans will be excited.

Danny Murphy has previously raved about Gibbs-White. He called him ‘sensational’ back in 2018 after a performance for Wolves.

The player has already made 49 appearances in the Premier League and although the fee is hefty, Cooper has finally got his man.
