Leicester City missed out on signing Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson this summer, according to The Telegraph.
The Foxes have signed just a single player during the transfer window, with goalkeeper Alex Smithies checking in.
It’s been a poor start to the season for the Foxes who have just a single point from their opening three games.
Brendan Rodgers may have to sell in order to rebuild his squad before the transfer window closes next month.

Wesley Fofana is attracting interest from Chelsea, whilst James Maddison is being courted by Newcastle.
MORE FOREST STORIES
After a poor start to the season, it seems likely that Leicester need to sell one of those and freshen up the squad.
It’s now being claimed that Rodgers was keen to take advantage of Johnson’s contract situation.
The 21-year-old has now signed a long-term deal at the City Ground but that didn’t stop Leicester sniffing around.
Rodgers has a proud history when it comes to nurturing younger players and clearly, he fancied working with Johnson.
Leicester were never going to have the finances to sign Johnson on a permanent deal. The Reds valued him at £25 million last season in the Championship.
Johnson was magnificent for the Reds last season; scoring 19 goals and claiming 10 assists as Forest won promotion.
Leicester missed out on Johnson and he’s at Forest to stay
The Reds need all their star players to stay fit to have a real chance at Premier League survival this season.
It’s been a case of so far so good and four points from three games isn’t a bad return at all for a newly-promoted outfit.
Johnson netted his first goal in the Premier League on Saturday by firing Forest in front against Everton at Goodison Park.

Moving to Leicester wouldn’t have exactly been popular among the Forest faithful.
A move was never likely to be back on the cards once the Reds claimed promotion and once again he’s likely to be the team’s star man.
Forest have themselves a gem and the Reds can look forward to plenty more moments of magic from Johnson this season.
