Report: Nottingham Forest want Serie A pair, £20m-rated playmaker is still on the radar

Nottingham Forest are trying to sign two more Atalanta stars after signing Remo Freuler. Football Italia claims that Hans Hateboer and Ruslan Malinovskyi are now firmly in the club’s sights before the transfer window closes.

The Swiss star signed for the Reds for £7.5 million earlier this month. He’s a vastly experienced performer and now Forest are keen to reunite him with two of his former teammates.

Malinovskyi has been the subject of vast interest of late. It was claimed earlier this month that he wasn’t keen on a move to Forest, with Tottenham and Marseille also keen on his services.

Hateboer is a new link. He was the subject of some speculation yesterday that suggested the Reds are keen on signing the player who typically plays as a right-back.

The 28-year-old has been with Atalanta since 2017. He checked in from FC Groningen and has been a regular performer in Gian Piero Gasperini’s team over the last five years.

Malinovskyi is a player with real box office quality. He typically plays as a number 10 though and the signing of Morgan Hibbs-White might have seen him slip off the radar.

The latest report claims that isn’t the case though. Steve Cooper is keen to add a few more players and it would seem as though the Ukrainian international is still on the radar.

Forest trying to sign Atalanta pair

Both Hateboer and Malinovskyi would represent quality additions to the Forest ranks. If both players could be added, it would perhaps bring an end to the club’s transfer business this summer.

The Reds probably do need a couple more players. That said, Cooper’s bench on Saturday looked far stronger than it did during the first two games of the campaign.

Malinovskyi would represent a very shrewd piece of business. Hateboer is perhaps more of an unknown quantity but it’s fair to say he’s been a decent player for Atalanta over the years.

Both players would provide useful competition for the squad. In the case of Malinovskyi, he’d hope to become a regular pretty quickly and his arrival would excite supporters.
