Grimsby Town v Nottingham Forest: What’s the story?
It’s rare for Forest to be playing their first League Cup contest of the season at the end of August.
Normally the Reds would have played one game in the competition by now but this year they received a bye to round two.
Forest are now a Premier League club and naturally, that will be prioritised by Cooper.
The Reds head coach has made several changes to the squad for tonight’s clash, with Tottenham due to visit Forest on Sunday.

The game at Blundell Park represents a good chance for several fringe players to stake their claim for a place.
Forest will hope to progress as they look to continue the winning mentality that served them extremely well during last season.
Forest enjoyed a useful cup run in the FA Cup last season and Cooper had his team bang up for those games.
Tonight represents a different challenge and Grimsby have made a decent start to life back in the EFL.
Paul Hurst has overseen one win, two draws and a defeat from their opening four games since winning promotion.
Broadcast details
Tonight’s game won’t be shown on live television.
As always, full match commentary will be live on BBC Radio Nottingham, with Colin Fray once again behind the mic.
