Nottingham Forest have made contact with Chelsea over the signing of Trevoh Chalobah, according to 90Min.
The Reds are on the lookout for a new central defender after Moussa Niakhate was ruled out for a few months.
Chalobah has fallen out of favour under Thomas Tuchel and has been given the green light to leave this summer.
The 23-year-old has interest from Everton, Leeds and Southampton who have all made contact with Chelsea.
Interest comes from further afield as well. Serie A giants Inter and Jose Mourinho’s Roma have also asked about Chalobah.

The youngster is a burgeoning talent and he has a contract at Stamford Bridge until 2026.
As a result, it’s highly unlikely that the Blues would be willing to offload the man who typically plays at centre-back on a permanent basis.
Chalobah has been an unused sub for all three of Chelsea’s games in the Premier League so far this season.
After making 31 appearances and scoring four goals last season, he won’t want to be sat on the sidelines for the 2022/23 campaign.
Forest have signed 16 players so far this summer and they aren’t finished just yet.
Injury to Niakhate isn’t ideal and it would appear that Forest are set to act quickly to replace him.
Contact made by Forest for Chalobah
Tuchel is actually a big fan of the Chelsea academy starlet. He called him ‘unbelievable’ during last season and it’s perhaps a surprise he’s been cast aside.
Chalobah needs regular game time and heading out on loan makes perfect sense for him.
Forest can only have one more Premier League loan in their squad having already signed Dean Henderson from Manchester United.
As a result, Chalobah might not be a bad second and final loan from another top-flight club.

Rumour rating: 7.5/10 – This would be a very useful signing for the Reds.
One thing that will be lacking without Niakhate is a little bit of pace at the back and Chalobah would provide that.
He spent last season playing plenty of football for Chelsea and that experience could prove very useful indeed.
