The remarkable claim was made on Twitter earlier today and it’s news that will delight the Reds fan base.
Niakhate picked up a hamstring injury in Forest’s 1-0 win over West Ham United earlier this month.
After the Reds drew with Everton on Saturday, Steve Cooper confirmed that the centre-back may be out for months.
That doesn’t appear to be the case though with Taggat in Senegal claiming that the news is far more joyous.
Niakhate has made a decent start to life at Forest and looks to possess some real quality at the heart of a back three.
The 26-year-old penned a deal with the Reds after Forest agreed on a deal with Bundesliga outfit Mainz in the summer.
He made his debut against Newcastle and although the Reds lost he was largely impressive.
Niakhate captained Mainz for the last 18 months and Forest would dearly miss his leadership skills.
Forest aren’t blessed with lots of options at centre-back and having the player back would be a huge help.
Moussa Niakhate could be back in weeks
This would be a massive help for Forest as they bid to try and stay in the Premier League during 2022/23.
The Reds need all the help they can get at the back and Niakhate has an injection of pace that is needed in a three-man defence.
Forest face Tottenham on Sunday and Manchester City after that. It’s unlikely that he will play in any of those games but those fixtures aren’t season-defining.
After that Forest face Bournemouth, Leeds and Fulham. If Niakhate could be fit for those games it would be a great help and fans will be thrilled by this latest update.
