Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Tottenham star Sergio Reguilon is in no rush to make a decision on his future amid interest from Nottingham Forest.
The Reds are keen to finalise their summer recruitment. One area that perhaps does need another option is on the left-hand side in the wing-back role.
Forest have been linked with a move for Reguilon. He’s fallen down the pecking order at Tottenham and is free to move on this summer.
The former Real Madrid player is behind other players for a place in Antonio Conte’s team and plenty of clubs are keen.
Di Marzio claims that Lazio and Villarreal are both interested; with Forest offering him the chance to stay in England.
Now, it appears that signing him could prove more difficult than it might have initially seemed.
Reguilon isn’t in any rush to leave and might be willing to wait until January before deciding to move on.
Forest have signed Harry Toffolo and Omar Richards this summer but the latter is out injured for another month.
As a result, the Reds could do with some cover at left wing-back and have identified Reguilon.
Signing him would be deeply ambitious but that has been the order of the day for Forest during the summer window.
Reguilon in no rush to make transfer decision
This is a bit of a blow for Forest and perhaps they will have to revert to their list of targets for another option.
The Reds could definitely do with some cover for Toffolo, although Aaron Donnelly did okay at Grimsby in the Carabao Cup.
Reguilon perhaps feels as though he will get himself back in favour at Tottenham if he works hard enough.
Forest might well keep the 26-year-old on their radar for January and he would be an ambitious signing.
Reguilon earns £68,000-a-week at Tottenham. If he moves to Forest or Lazio he’s unlikely to earn such a salary and few could blame him for sticking in North London.
