Nottingham Forest look to be edging close to the signing of Wolves star Willy Boly after he snubbed Bruno Lage at the weekend.
The Portuguese boss confirmed after Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle that Boly had been named in his squad.
He advised the defender that he needed him for his 20-man squad but the centre-back chose not to turn up.
Forest have already seen a couple of bids rejected but Boly’s latest act may twist Wolves’ arm.

The 31-year-old player has been identified by the Reds as someone who can bolster Steve Cooper’s ranks.
He has stacks of experience in the game and has made 147 appearances for Wolves in five years.
In recent times, he has fallen down the pecking order and during 2021/22 he made just 11 appearances for the club.
Given his age, he’s keen to play regular football and Boly clearly feels that he has a better chance of doing that at Forest.
Boly has also played for Porto during his career. He made eight appearances on their books before moving to Wolves.
When the player first arrived at Wolves he was praised by Joleon Lescott, who called the player ‘outstanding’ and ‘unique’ following a particularly impressive performance.
Forest edging closer to Boly signing
It looks as though the Reds will get their man over the line in the coming days and Cooper looks to finalise his squad.
Forest have played well in their two home games so far; beating West Ham and losing narrowly to Tottenham.

It’s proved a decent start, with four points from as many games but Cooper will want the results to start reflecting the work rate of his squad.
Boly will provide some cover for the injured Moussa Niakhate and he should prove a useful addition.
The player is strong, reads the game well and ultimately he has some Premier League experience that Forest are craving.
