Nottingham Forest legend Stan Collymore has sent a heartfelt message to new Chelsea boss Graham Potter on Twitter.

The head coach joined the Stamford Bridge giants last week after choosing to leave his role at Brighton.

Potter’s journey has taken on quite a trajectory and it really is something of a dream for the boss.

In 2008 he was appointed as boss at Northern Counties outfit Leeds Carnegie.

After three years in non-league, he headed to Sweden where he took charge of Swedish fourth-tier outfit Ostersund.

There he helped them reach the top flight and even led them into the Europa League where they reached the knockout stages.

His first job in England saw him head to Swansea where he proved a roaring success and earned a shot in the Premier League with Brighton.

The 47-year-old leaves the AMEX Stadium with the Seagulls sat fourth in the Premier League after a blistering start to the season.

Now, he faces his biggest challenge yet as he looks to revive the fortunes of Chelsea who have seen their season start with a stutter.

He’s signed a long-term deal with the Blues and he will hope to implement his style quickly at Stamford Bridge.

Interestingly, his departure could impact Forest. Steve Cooper is thought to be among the names that the Seagulls are targeting to replace Potter.

Forest hero Collymore is clearly a big fan of Potter and he’s backing him to produce the goods at Chelsea.

It will certainly be a bigger expectation level than anything he’s been used to before at Stamford Bridge.

His style of play is attacking and his strategy should delight the club’s supporters.

Thomas Tuchel was more pragmatic in his approach and that didn’t always wash with the club’s fan base.

Potter is an astute English coach and Collymore believes the glass ceiling for domestic coaches could shatter.
