Nottingham Forest midfielder Remo Freuler has claimed that things will get better for the Reds.

In an interview with SRF, the former Atalanta star has suggested that he’s been surprised by the step up in quality.

Forest have lost four games on the spin to head into the international break on a bit of a downer.

Freuler is currently away with Switzerland and made his first Forest start at the City Ground on Friday.

The 30-year-old became a cult hero at Atalanta and he captained the side in the Champions League last season.

In total, he made 260 appearances for the Serie A outfit and he’s hoping that Forest can still come good this season.

He told SRF: “Leaving was about being able to to have a new experience again. You don’t know when the chance to play in what is currently the best league in the world will come again.

“I thought I was the newcomer in the team. But it was actually like that for everyone. It will take some time but it can still be good.”

Freuler is currently with the Switzerland squad. They face two games in the Nations League against Spain and the Czech Republic.

During his time at Atalanta, Freuler was called the ‘conductor’ for his ability to dictate the tempo of games.

Freuler says things will get better for Forest

It’s fair to say that once the Reds find a settled eleven, things should get better for the team on the pitch.

Forest are in woeful form and they must stick together and this particularly awful time.

The Reds have a good chance to get some points on the board when they face Leicester after the international break.

Freuler is a player that should also come good for the Reds once he finally settles.

At the moment, he’s not had too many opportunities to play and he will hope to establish himself as the season progresses.

Freuler’s top-level experience could prove crucial and naturally, the Reds signed him to make a big impact on the team.
