Nottingham Forest are set to welcome Gustavo Scarpa into their squad when the January transfer window reopens.

The Brazilian is thought to have signed a pre-contract agreement on Trentside, choosing to join when the Brazilian league finishes.

Scarpa is on course to win the league title with Palmeiras but after that, he will embark on a European adventure.

The 28-year-old has made 50 appearances during the 2022 campaign in all competitions and is in fine form.

He’s scored 10 times and claimed 10 assists but an article from Terra has explained just how good he’s been.

Scarpa is a player who simply loves to make things happen and he’s not afraid to chance his creativity.

Some statistics explain that he’s completed 19 successful dribbles during the campaign and he loves to take players on.

Furthermore, it would seem that he loves to get out wide and make himself a menace to the opposition.

Scarpa has completed no fewer than 75 successful crosses during the current campaign and has also seen 29 shots go on target.

The Reds might find themselves in a relegation battle when the turn of the year comes around.

As a result, attracting players to the club might prove tricky for the ambitious owner Evangelos Marinakis.

However, signing Scarpa looks ideal and he could inject some creativity into the team for the second half of the campaign.

The Reds might hit the jackpot with this signing and the Brazilian will be desperate to prove a point.

A one-time Brazil international, the player is currently on the cusp of the national squad.

The World Cup in Qatar is likely to come too soon but doing well in Europe could help him with future call-ups.

Scarpa can play in any forward position and that level of versatility will help Steve Cooper.

The Brazilian league is a competitive league and the physicality of that division should help him adapt to the Premier League pretty quickly.
