Leicester City v Nottingham Forest: What’s the story?

This game is huge. Local pride is at stake and both managers might be forgiven for feeling the heat a little bit.

Brendan Rodgers have seen his team lose six games in succession, with Steve Cooper on a run of four straight defeats.

It was always anticipated that a slow start would ensue for Forest. They added 22 new players in the summer and it’s clear there will be a settling-in period.

Still, the team can ill-afford to keep losing and a win tonight would see Forest escape the relegation zone.

The last two games have seen Forest throw away leads in games at home against Bournemouth and Fulham.

That simply won’t do and the fans are owed something of a reaction at the King Power Stadium tonight.

Cooper has plenty of credit in the bank after his unbelievable work last season but he will be desperate to turn things around.

The key tonight could be Forest managing the Leicester atmosphere.

If the Blues start well and score early, the supporters will remain on their side all evening.

Should Forest nick the first goal, the crowd could become toxic and that should help Forest.

Broadcast details

Forest will feature on Monday Night Football for the first time in 23 years this evening.

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher will be providing analysis live on Sky Sports Main Event.

As ever, the game will also be broadcast live on BBC Radio Nottingham.
