Great British Bake Off presenter Matt Lucas took to Twitter last night to send some support to Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper.

The comedian is now a presenter on Fantasy Football which has made a return to Sky Sports for the new campaign.

He’s seen by many as a national treasure and it would appear that the former Little Britain star is a big Cooper fan!

After Forest had drawn 1-1 with Aston Villa, the Reds head coach seemingly had support from an unlikely source.

Lucas is an Arsenal fan but clearly, he had tuned in to last night’s Premier League offering on Sky Sports.

After the game, he took to Twitter and claimed: “Steve Cooper is so impressive in his interviews. I really hope Forest turn it around.”

Forest ended a run of five straight defeats with a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa.

Emmanuel Dennis opened the scoring but Ashley Young equalised the visitors just seven minutes later.

Still, it was a decent performance and certainly defensively Forest looked far better than they have done of late.

Forest head to Wolves next up and they will be hoping to claim a first win since the second weekend of the 2022/23 campaign.

The Forest head coach has worked absolute wonders since checking in at the City Ground.

Cooper took over when Forest were bottom of the Championship and what he’s achieved has been remarkable.

Forest fans were delighted last week when news emerged that the club had agreed on a new contract with the manager.

Now, everyone can pull together towards the future and hopefully, Cooper can get Forest firing up the league.

Lucas will be on television screens every Tuesday at the moment; with the new series of the Great British Bake Off in full swing.

Fantasy Football also airs on Friday evenings, with the star appearing in a remake of the famous nineties series featuring Baddiel and Skinner.
