Nottingham Forest midfielder Orel Mangala has praised Emmanuel Dennis on Instagram after his first Reds goal.
The ex-Watford man opened his Forest account in Monday’s 1-1 draw against Aston Villa at the City Ground.
Dennis signed for Forest in the summer for a transfer fee in the region of £20 million.
He’s found a place in the starting eleven hard to come by since arriving but grasped his chance with aplomb on Monday.
Dennis headed home after a delightful set piece from Morgan Gibbs-White to send the City Ground into pandemonium.
It was a nice moment for the 24-year-old who capped his first start for Forest in the Premier League with a goal.
Dennis scored 10 times last season in the top flight. As a result, it’s perhaps surprising that he’s not had an opportunity.
He could hardly have done any more on his full debut and he will now be craving more chances to start.
Dennis is hardworking, determined and clearly, he’s always looking to get himself involved in the penalty area.
The player is now in possession of the shirt. He will hope to become an integral part of Steve Cooper’s team.
Mangala praised Dennis after first Reds goal
The midfielder was an unused substitute on Monday and he will hope to make a return to the team soon.
Forest face Wolves next and perhaps the Reds will restore the Belgian to the starting line-up at Molineux.
Following Dennis scoring for the Reds; the striker took to Instagram to speak of his upset at not managing to claim three points.
Mangala issued a one-word response that translates to, “Magician”.
It’s perhaps surprising that Dennis hasn’t started more given that he’s the only striker in the team that is proven in the Premier League.
Only time will tell what Cooper decides to do from here and it will be interesting to see who starts at Wolves.
