Wolves are unlikely to have a manager in the dugout for this weekend’s game against Nottingham Forest, reports 90Min.
This comes after Julen Lopetegui has now reportedly turned down a move to Molineux after holding talks.
Wolves are without a manager after parting company with Bruno Lage earlier this month.
He was in charge for just over a year and the progress hadn’t been quite as evident as the hierarchy would have liked.
Wolves had identified Lopetegui as their new manager but the 56-year-old has now declined a move to the club.

The Spaniard had departed Sevilla recently after two-and-a-half years in charge of the La Liga outfit.
He enjoyed a decent time of things in Spain and left the club with a win ratio of 52%.
Lopetegui has also managed Real Madrid, Porto and Rayo Vallecano, whilst he spent a short time in charge of Spain too.
But, his next job won’t be with Wolves and now their search continues.
With that in mind, it means that they are unlikely to have a manager in place in time for Forest’s visit on Saturday.
It looks like a massive game at the bottom of the Premier League.
Forest gave their season a bit of life on Monday by ending a run of five straight defeats, with a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa.
Wolves are languishing near the foot of the table too and Saturday could give which team wins a huge boost.
Wolves unlikely to have manager for Forest game
This is naturally welcome news for Forest, although they will still have to work hard.
It just means that a new manager bounce won’t be evident at Molineux and the disjointed nature of their play could still be evident.

Forest know that wins are a must right now if they’re to pull clear of the danger zone.
Lopetegui would have been a coup for Wolves and the Molineux crowd would have gone up a notch had he been appointed.
Now, Forest won’t have to contend with that when they make the short journey this weekend.
