Nottingham Forest let Jordan Gabriel join Blackpool in the summer of 2021 and now he’s facing a period of time out of action.
The 24-year-old has suffered a bizarre injury at home and he might face surgery after hurting his knee.
Forest had utilised Gabriel during five of the first six games of 2020/21 and it was a surprise when Chris Hughton let him leave.
In hindsight, Forest were desperately trying to sign Djed Spence and the rest as they say is history.

Still, Gabriel looked pretty useful when he was called upon and it was anticipated that he would remain at the club.
Since checking in at Blackpool he’s been trying desperately to win a place in the team.
Last season he made 21 appearances in the Championship for the Tangerines but struggled for chances towards the end of the season.
During 2022/23 he made 10 appearances in all competitions but this latest injury has ruled him out for two games.
Gabriel looks tailor-made for the style of football that Appleton plays and he will hope to be back as soon as possible.
Gabriel facing period out of action through injury
The youngster came through the academy ranks at Forest and joined Blackpool on loan in 2020/21.
He helped the club win promotion to the Championship and it was no surprise they wanted him permanently.
Forest didn’t have a right-back at the start of last season though and that saw him thrust into Hughton’s plans.
The player did okay without ever really setting the City Ground alight.

In truth, that probably said more about the style of football Forest played under Hughton as opposed to Gabriel’s potential.
As an academy graduate, supporters will naturally keep an eye out for Gabriel to see how his career progresses.
Right now, the player faces an anxious wait regarding his knee problem.
