The brother of Nottingham Forest defender Giulian Biancone has provided an update on the player’s situation.

During the summer he swapped Troyes for the City Ground but it’s been a frustrating time of things so far.

The 22-year-old has played just 12 minutes in the Premier League and was in the squad for two games.

Biancone played 90 minutes in the 3-0 win over Grimsby in the Carabao Cup and looked largely useful.

He arrived at Forest on the back of 33 appearances last season and he brings versatility to the team.

Biancone can operate as a right-sided central defender, or as a right-sided wing-back.

Ultimately, the player hasn’t done enough just yet to convince Steve Cooper that he deserves a Premier League chance.

His brother has taken to Twitter, however, to suggest that it’s not through a lack of trying.

He shared a highlight reel of some of Biancone’s best bits earlier today and claimed: “What I am sure? He is fighting every day to give you 100%.”

Biancone is behind Neco Williams and Serge Aurier in competition for a place on the right.

There are a plethora of central defenders in place at Forest and getting a place in the team looks problematic.

It seems as though the Frenchman is a good character.

He will be disappointed not to have got a chance just yet but he will be trying to ready himself just in case.

Forest have lots of options in their squad and Biancone now has to wait patiently.

With the Reds struggling to keep clean sheets, it perhaps is a surprise that he’s not been given a chance yet.

Furthermore, he does possess a little bit of pace and that has been something that has been lacking defensively this season.

Biancone can only keep working hard in training.

If he does that then surely it won’t be long before Cooper hands him a chance to impress in the first team.
