Former Nottingham Forest man Jermaine Jenas said the club must improve on Match of the Day.
The Reds were beaten 1-0 by Wolves at Molineux and Forest have lost six of their last seven league fixtures.
Yesterday’s game was settled by a Ruben Neves penalty with Brennan Johnson missing from the spot for Forest.
The Premier League dream has become a nightmare for Forest, with several players underperforming.
Forest signed 22 new players in the summer and things will take a bit of time.
The Reds don’t have that luxury though and they must improve quickly if they’re to survive this season.
Jenas believes Cooper’s play was very disjointed and thinks something has to improve quickly.
He told Match of the Day: “The link-ups are not quite there.
“Steve Cooper has got a lot of work to do. I really rate him, I really do. I’m glad they gave him a contract but they’re staring something very negative in the face and they need to improve.
Jenas spent two different spells on Trentside during his playing career.
He never got to taste the Premier League with the Reds but he was a keen spectator at Wembley in May.
Forest have to improve and they’ve won just once during 2022/23.
The Reds won’t want to get relegated again and they need to start winning games sooner rather than later.
Jenas has said Forest must improve
The Reds are in dire straits right now and something will have to give.
Forest have handed Steve Cooper a new deal and that is a good thing but he needs to win games.
The team are nowhere near where they should be and Forest are heading back to the Championship.
Jenas clearly cares deeply about Forest and he doesn’t want the team to be relegated this season.
Everybody associated with the club wants them to avoid relegation but right now it looks very unlikely.
Cooper has to find a winning formula and fast.
