Nottingham Forest did something absolutely ridiculous yesterday

Football is all about enjoyment but Nottingham Forest did something absolutely ridiculous yesterday.

The Reds headed to Wolves on the back of a decent performance against Aston Villa on Monday night.

Forest drew 1-1 and gave themselves something to build upon against the team who has scored the least amount of goals this season.

Wolves haven’t got a manager and had scored just three goals this season.

Still, that didn’t matter when a member of Forest’s admin team seemingly did the team talk for the home side.

Ahead of kick-off, Forest took to Twitter to promote the match.

They shared a picture of Emmanuel Dennis with the caption ‘it’s playtime’, just hours before the game was due to start.

The post was always going to bite Forest.

After Wolves had won 1-0, they returned the favour by tweeting their own animation with the caption ‘playtime’s over’.

Forest did delete their tweet when they saw the reaction but the damage was done.

It was a foolish move and an incredibly naive one from the Premier League’s worst team.

Forest need all the help they can get and choosing to rouse a managerless team isn’t one of the club’s finer moments.

The Reds have lots of learning to do on the pitch.

After yesterday’s bizarre tweet, it would appear they must do some learning away from the green bit too.

It was a really poor moment from the team behind the scenes.

The Reds enticed Wolves to the point where they simply wanted the game more than Forest.

It was another disappointing performance from Steve Cooper’s team and he has some serious work to do.

Forest must make sure they don’t tweet something along these lines again and learn from this debacle.
