Riley Harbottle has predicted Nottingham Forest to be just fine during the 2022/23 Premier League campaign.

The Reds currently sit second bottom in the top flight and drew 0-0 with Brighton on their travels last night.

Forest have won just once so far this season and they’re desperately hoping to win some more games soon.

The division is arguably the toughest it’s ever been this season and that has led to a struggle for Forest.

After winning promotion in May, the squad was decimated and that was always going to be problematic.

Harbottle was handed a new contract and sent to Mansfield during the summer.

He’s on loan at One Call Stadium for the campaign and he’s showcasing his talent to the League Two club.

This week, the youngster has taken some time out to discuss the Reds’ fortunes and he’s delivered a prediction.

He told the Mansfield Chad: “The Premier League this year is the hardest it’s been, so it was always going to be hard for any team in it this year.

“But, I fully believe with the manager and players there they will come through. It’s a good group of lads and they will be fine.

“It’s going to be hard with all those new players coming in but we didn’t have the squad. But my focus this year is on Mansfield and getting Mansfield promoted.”

It’s fair to say that the Reds have a lot of work to do.

Harbottle is a lifelong Forest fan though and he’s clearly looking on the optimistic side.

The central defender is tipped for big things by the staff behind the scenes and his loan at Mansfield should put him in good shape.

Harbottle is doing well under the wing of Nigel Clough.

He will know he can get even better but to be fair he’s a young lad who is still learning his way in the men’s game.

Hopefully, the Reds can get out of their current predicament and Harbottle will hope to prove himself in pre-season next summer.
