Gary Lineker has hailed Nottingham Forest after they defeated Liverpool 1-0 at the City Ground.
The Match of the Day pundit took to Twitter shortly after the win to heap praise on the Reds.
Lineker is a Leicester fan and the win for the Reds saw his team return to the bottom of the Premier League.
The game was won thanks to Taiwo Awoniyi who scored after 55 minutes to give Forest lift-off.
Lineker was often seen giving Forest praise last season as they captured the hearts of the neutrals during last season’s FA Cup run.
Forest fans were astounded by the performance of their team yesterday.
The players looked in great form as they secured a big three points and hopefully there will be more to come.
Awoniyi’s goal was a brilliant moment and it’s what Forest fans have waited 23 years for.
Lineker took to Twitter shortly after the win and lauded the Reds for their heroics.
He said: “That’s a spectacular result for NFFC. Liverpool’s slight lack of depth in their squad proving problematic at present.”
Forest now head to Arsenal next week looking to put more points on the board.
After that, they face Brentford and Crystal Palace before the World Cup and the Reds now have a big opportunity.

Lineker is a decent bloke and although he’s a Leicester fan, he knows the game.
It was nice to hear him heap praise on the Reds for their heroics yesterday.
Forest deserved their win and this was a massive three points for the club yesterday.
Hopefully, Forest can continue in this vein of performance levels and keep climbing the Premier League.
