Former Nottingham Forest star Danny Higginbotham has lauded the Reds after their stunning win over Liverpool.
Taiwo Awoniyi scored after 55 minutes to silence the Kopites and hand Forest a massive three points.
Forest won the game and climbed off the bottom of the Premier League.
The Reds must use this as a catalyst to get more points on the board and start showcasing their true potential.
Forest were outstanding yesterday afternoon and Higginbotham lauded the Reds for their performance.
It was a shock result for the club as they stunned the club that won the Premier League in 2020.
Higginbotham was on loan for Forest before his career ended and now he works as a pundit in the United States.
Quite rightly though he’s claimed that Forest must now use this as a catalyst to kick on even further.
He said on Twitter: “What a result for NFFC. Great credit to Steve Cooper as well. Become more pragmatic as the season has unfolded and two consecutive clean sheets. Strong base to build on and pace on the counter.”
Forest now go to Arsenal next Sunday and after four points from two tough games, they will be full of confidence.
Forest lauded by Higginbotham
The Reds were brilliant yesterday.
The fact that Jurgen Klopp came out and said he couldn’t foresee that result is somewhat poetic.
Forest were fantastic and they deserved every plaudit that came their way.
Higginbotham was covering the game yesterday in the States and he was impressed by what he saw.
It was the first time this season that the Reds have looked like a team and long may it continue.
Forest have to keep going now.
Their season has finally been kick-started but this can’t be a one-off situation.
More points are required now and it seems that Higginbotham will be hoping to see the Reds stay up.
