Joe Lolley has told Australian outlet Neds that it was an honour to play a part in promotion to the Premier League for Nottingham Forest.
The winger is now playing for Sydney FC and he’s set his sights firmly on being one of the best players in the A-League.
Lolley has made a fine start to life playing in Australia.
He’s scored twice and claimed one assist from five appearances for his new employers.
His two goals have been well-taken efforts and they’ve contributed to his team claiming two wins and a draw in the league.
Lolley has been discussing leaving Forest and also his hopes for the future in the A-League.
He told Neds: “I wouldn’t say it’s a real burning motivation. I think to be a part of that history is still pretty incredible.
“If I can be the best I can be, hopefully, I will be one of the better players in the league.”
Lolley departed Forest in the summer after being deemed surplus to requirements by Steve Cooper.
He was a decent servant for the Reds but some niggling injuries left him struggling to recapture his best form.
In 171 appearances for Forest, he scored 26 goals and claimed 27 assists.

Very few Forest supporters will have a bad word to say about Lolley.
He always gave his all for the Reds and seemed to care deeply about producing the goods for the club.
It’s perhaps a shame that he wasn’t kept on this season; although it’s hard to see where he’d fit in now.
Lolley only managed one assist last season and perhaps the time was right for him to depart.
Still, supporters will now monitor his progress in Australia with intrigue.
In a league that’s not as demanding as the Championship in terms of the games played, Lolley should thrive.
It’s great to hear that he’s got ambitions of becoming one of the best in the league and Sydney FC are lucky to have him.
