Hwang Ui-jo could be set to return to Nottingham Forest, according to Greek news outlet Sportime.
The South Korean international joined the Evangelos Marinakis-owned club in the summer.
Ui-jo signed for Forest and was then sent straight over to Greece to join the champions on a season-long loan.
The appointment of Michel as manager has bumped the striker down the pecking order.
He’s made just 10 appearances for the club and registered just one assist for the team.
Ui-jo signed for the Reds from Bordeaux and he made two appearances for them this season before leaving.
There is an issue with this decision, however.
It leaves the man with 49 caps in a sticky situation as he’s not able to play for another club during 2022/23.
As a result, he would have to either stay at Forest and not play or head back to Bordeaux on loan.
It’s a similar situation with Josh Bowler who has also been bumped down the pecking order by Olympiacos.
Ui-jo was added as a somewhat surprising signing during the summer.
He was one of 22 new additions to the club, leaving Bordeaux after 98 appearances for the club.
Ui-jo could return to Forest
It has to be said that this did look like a strange signing in the summer.
With Bowler, it’s clear to see a plan given that he’s a young player and can still be considered one for the future.
Ui-jo is already 30-years-old and it’s hard to see where he has a future at the City Ground.
Having never played in England, it seems a strange move for Forest to take a chance on him at this stage of his career.
Now, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the striker.
He can’t do anything other than head to Bordeaux but it remains to be seen if they will want him back.
