Nottingham Forest are in the market to try and sign Boulaye Dia during the January transfer window.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Reds are one of a number of clubs vying for the Senegal star.
Dia is set to head to the World Cup in a couple of weeks and his future is likely to be decided afterwards.
The 25-year-old is currently on loan at Salernitana from Villarreal.

During 2022/23 he’s found the net five times and laid on a further two goals in the way of assists.
Salernitana have the option to buy Dia and they’re keen to sign him and then sell him on.
That has alerted several clubs towards his availability, with Forest firmly in the mix to sign him.
Dia has drawn praise from Bayern Munich star Sadio Mane in the past.
He previously told the Ligue 1 official website that the striker is tipped for the very top at some point during his career.
Dia rose to prominence with Stade Reims in France.
During his time with the club, he scored 28 goals in 88 appearances and earned himself a move to La Liga.
Forest won’t be the only club to be interested in Dia.
West Ham and Leeds are also desperately keen to sign the player and are busy monitoring the situation.
Forest in the market for Dia
It’s fair to say that the Reds need to score more goals.
They’re the second-lowest goalscorers in the Premier League, with only Wolves scoring fewer goals.
With that in mind, more firepower could be required during the January transfer window.

Dia would provide the squad with a different option from the other strikers that are currently within the ranks.
The talented striker is capable of holding the ball up and that is one attribute currently lacking.
Dia would compliment the team’s current strikers nicely and after being endorsed by Mane, the Reds could do a lot worse.
