Three former Nottingham Forest players took centre stage during the Championship clash between Hull and Middlesbrough last night.

Chuba Akpom, Cyrus Christie and promotion-winning player Tobias Figueiredo were the three involved.

It was a clash of two teams who have lost their way somewhat over the past few weeks.

Both clubs have already seen managers depart this season, with Hull yet to appoint a permanent successor to Shota Arveladze yet.

Michael Carrick has been appointed to his first management role at Boro.

He oversaw a 2-1 defeat at Preston on Saturday but did get his first win on the board last night.

Boro won the game 3-1 thanks to a goal from ex-Forest loanee Chuba Akpom and two own goals.

Both Christie and Figueiredo were inconsistent figures for Forest and that proved evident last night.

Christie earned plaudits from the supporters after an hour when he cancelled out Akpom’s opener with an equaliser.

Those celebrations proved short-lived, however.

Just three minutes later Figueiredo wanted the ground to swallow him up when he put through his own net.

With Hull pushing hard for another leveller, disaster struck with 10 minutes remaining.

This time, Christie put through his own net to ensure a big three points for Boro.

Clearly, Figueiredo was in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons last night.

His own goal came at an awful time, with Hull trying to settle down after scoring a deserved equaliser.

Christie’s night proved bittersweet.

He scored at one end, yet put through his own net at the other.

On the whole, however, he is doing well at Hull and appears to be enjoying his football.

Akpom has proved one of the surprise packages of the season and has now scored six goals in 12 outings.

He failed to find the net during his time at Forest after joining on loan from Arsenal.

All three of the ex-Forest players have now found a place in the EFL.

For Figueiredo and Christie, they will look to quickly forget their errors against Boro.
