Rafa Mir is a name that won’t live long in the memory of Nottingham Forest supporters but last night he scored against Manchester City.
During his time at the City Ground, he made 13 appearances and in truth, he never looked like scoring a goal.
Mir was on loan at Forest from Wolves at the start of the 2019/20 campaign.
He was signed to add cover for Lewis Grabban and provide Sabri Lamouchi with a different option.

Instead, he struggled for game time and when he was called upon, he was largely wasteful.
Last night, he put Sevilla on the cusp of a famous Champions League result.
City have lost just once in the Premier League this season and have been formidable on home soil.
After 12 minutes last night, Mir silenced the Etihad Stadium faithful.
It was the second the 25-year-old has scored this season and the goals have dried up a little bit.
Since leaving Forest, his form has been excellent.
He scored nine times for Huesca during the second half of 2019/20 after Forest terminated his loan.
During 2021/22 he scored 16 times for the same time following their promotion to La Liga.
That form earned him a move to Sevilla and in his maiden campaign, he scored 13 goals.
Mir scored against City and Forest fans have to move on
Clearly, Mir just wasn’t cut out for a role where he didn’t play much football.
Whenever Mir seems to score, many idle comments on social media come from Forest fans.
Some believe he’s the worst player to ever grace the City Ground and frankly, that is nowhere near the truth.
Mir did struggle but he hardly played.

His performances for Forest were substitute outings with the odd starting berth sprinkled in.
Mir couldn’t fire Sevilla to a famous win.
Goals from Rico Lewis, Julian Alvarez and Riyad Mahrez ensured victory for the Citizens.
Now, Mir is forced to settle for a place in the Europa League and he will hope last night’s goal can ignite his season.
