Will Hughes naturally got a raucous reception from the Nottingham Forest fan base yesterday. Some footage has emerged involving Ryan Yates that has got the fan base in absolute hysterics.

With the Reds trying to close the game out, Ryan Yates maintained possession near the corner flag. In doing so, he was on the wrong end of a foul from Hughes, formerly of Derby County.

Forest did manage to hold out for the win. Morgan Gibbs-White capped off a brilliant week on a personal level by scoring his second goal in the Garibaldi.

The win moved the Reds off of the bottom of the Premier League. Now they head into the World Cup break finely poised for a brave battle against the dreaded drop.

Forest have Yates in their ranks and his stock is growing game by game. He was brilliant once again yesterday as he lined up alongside Remo Freuler and Cheikhou Kouyate.

Yates was at his brilliant best. Despite that, it wasn’t his footballing ability that drew the most scrutiny from the Forest fan base.

After Hughes had bundled Yates over, he appeared to shout something to the Forest academy graduate.

Clearly, the midfielder had riled the ex-Rams star but Yates simply sat forward and appeared to laugh in the face of Hughes.

Hughes got reception from Forest fan base

It’s quite something to see a former Derby player losing his cool at the City Ground. In fairness, Hughes might be pig sick of playing against Forest.

Hughes couldn’t help but take a little pop shot at the Reds. He was introduced as a substitute and didn’t really enjoy the best afternoon.

Yates is now silencing his critics once again. The Reds star is one of the first names on the team sheet and his form of late has been great.

He’s a real menace to play against and as Hughes found out yesterday, he’s mightily tricky to get off the ball.

There really is no better sight than a former Derby player taking the bait. Hughes is the latest and it’s a real joy that he left the City Ground as a loser.
