Omar Richards has been spotted ramping up his training as he prepares to make his debut for Nottingham Forest.
The Reds signed the left-back from Bayern Munich in the summer but injury struck shortly after his arrival.
Richards picked up a hairline fracture of his shine and has failed to make an appearance for the Reds yet.
Munich allowed their player to leave the club after just a single season at the Allianz Arena where he joined from Reading.
On the face of things, he looked like a useful signing and he was expected to compete for a place with Harry Toffolo.
Richards played 17 times for Munich last season as they romped to the Bundesliga title once again.
He might have been disappointed not to have played more but when Forest came calling, the player was on his way out.
The first half of 2022/23 has proved frustrating. As a result, he will have to work hard to get himself into the team.
Now, with the World Cup upon us, Richards has been in Dubai being put through his paces by a personal coach.
With the weather baking hot; it would appear that the 24-year-old is working extremely hard to get a place in the Forest team.
Richards spotted in training
It will be quite a significant boost to have the defender available for selection when domestic football returns.
Harry Toffolo recently picked up an injury at Brighton. He will be out of action for some time with a hamstring problem.
That leaves Renan Lodi as the only option at left-back, with Neco Williams filling in on that side in recent weeks too.
Richards has a decent pedigree and he looks like a very useful player for Forest to have signed for the future.
He made 104 appearances for Reading prior to signing for Bayern and he knows all about the English game.
It would seem as though his training is going well and Forest fans will hope to see him in the Garibaldi when the Premier League returns.
