Nottingham Forest saw a bid rejected for Valencia teenager Yunus Musah during the summer transfer window. According to Spanish outlet Relevo, the Reds were rivalling Inter, AC Milan and Juventus for the player’s signature.
The Reds signed several new players during the summer. It’s claimed that the USA midfielder was high on the list of targets though, with Forest plotting a somewhat ambitious move.
Musah signed for Valencia during the summer transfer window of 2020. He swapped Arsenal for the La Liga outfit and Forest fancied bringing the player back to England during the summer.

The central midfielder is viewed as one of Europe’s most talented teenagers. At 19 he’s already made 82 appearances for the Spanish giants and now has clubs monitoring his availability.
Forest moved for several options in midfield during a hectic summer. Cheikhou Kouyate, Orel Mangala, Remo Freuler and Lewis O’Brien were all added to the Forest ranks by Steve Cooper.
Musah would have been a magnificent addition though. He’s a talented young midfielder and one eye would have been firmly on the future had Forest been able to get a deal over the line.
Ultimately, Forest had to move quickly to sign other options. With £25 million being rejected, it seems crystal clear that Valencia are holding out for a huge sum of money for their prized youngster.

It will remain to be seen whether the Reds will return for the American. He’s about to embark on a World Cup campaign with his country and he will hope to add to the 19 caps he’s already claimed.
Musah could add some wealth to his valuation with a strong tournament. The USA will also fancy their chances of a strong tournament, with England, Wales and Iran in their group.

The young midfielder has made 11 appearances for Valencia this season. He’s now a trusted member of Gennaro Gattuso’s squad and has registered two assists during 2021/22.
He looks set to be handed a starring role at the World Cup for the Stars and Stripes. As a result, Forest might look to monitor his progress with intrigue ahead of a possible future move.
