TV star Adam Richman praised Nottingham Forest star, Neco Williams, after his performance for Wales on Monday night.
The Reds star cut an emotional figure at the end after playing for Wales despite losing his grandad 24 hours previous.
Williams wasn’t on the pitch when Gareth Bale scored the equaliser during a 1-1 draw against the USA.
Still, he did an admirable job despite the heartache that the player is currently going through.
Williams signed for Forest during the summer of 2022. He was one of 22 new additions, costing the Reds £17.5 million from Liverpool.
The 21-year-old started at left-back for Rob Page and it’s a position that Steve Cooper had used him in of late.
Williams has been quite inconsistent for Forest as he aims to make a fist of things in the Premier League.
Still, he’s a very decent signing and he will almost certainly prove to be money well spent from a Forest perspective.
In the short term, he’s aiming to help Wales achieve the unthinkable and qualify for the knockout stages of the World Cup.
Page’s team face Iran on Friday morning before taking on England on Tuesday night.
If they can qualify from Group B it would go down as a fantastic achievement and given their heart, it’s hard to bet against them.
Williams praised by Richman
The star of Man v Food took to Twitter to speak of his surprise at the performance of Williams.
He enjoyed his performance so much that he suggested that he needs to make more of an effort to watch Forest.
Richman is a Tottenham fan and he won’t have been happy to see his team lose to Forest in the Carabao Cup recently.
Williams didn’t start that game but did make an appearance as a substitute late in the piece.
Richman was delighted with the showing of the youngster during Monday’s game against the USA.
He called his performance exciting to watch and admitted he fancies watching more of Forest as the season progresses.
Williams did himself and his grandad proud on Monday and he will hope for more memorable moments at the World Cup.
