The World Cup is underway but Nottingham Forest star Jesse Lingard has been spotted training in Dubai.
The 29-year-old is pushing himself on a daily basis and he’s been working hard alongside Danny Welbeck.
Both players came through the Manchester United academy and are clearly still in touch with each other.
Welbeck and Lingard have squared off against each other already this season when Forest drew 0-0 with Brighton.
It’s thought that the Seagulls’ striker was named in Gareth Southgate’s 55-man squad prior to him selecting the final 26 for Qatar.
Welbeck has enjoyed a decent start to 2022/23. He’s scored once and claimed three assists, with his performances largely impressive.
Lingard is slowly but surely starting to prove his worth to the Forest fan base too.
He scored his first goal against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup and also claimed an assist during the 2-0 win.
That performance saw Steve Cooper start him against Crystal Palace and he was a constant menace in that game too.
The forward has copped a lot of unfair criticism following his summer move to the City Ground.
He arrived late during the pre-season campaign and as a result, he took a little longer than usual to get up to speed.
Lingard spotted training in Dubai
Forest return to action on December 21st when they face Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup.
Lingard will hope to be involved in that one having produced such a strong performance against Tottenham in the previous round.
Training alongside Welbeck can’t do the Forest man any harm at all.
The Brighton man has always been in decent shape and he’s an absolute unit in the Seagulls’ attack.
With that in mind, the pair hooking up to go through their paces can only bode well for Forest.
Lingard has so much more to offer and he will be determined to prove that after the World Cup.
