Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White reacted in emotional fashion to Phil Foden scoring for England last night. The Three Lions beat Wales to reach the last 16 of the World Cup, with the Manchester City man scoring his first goal at the tournament.

Gibbs-White is an England star in waiting. He’s a regular with the Under-21s and as he’s progressed through the ranks, he’s played a lot of football alongside Foden.

Last night, the Forest man was a keen watcher of the Three Lions. He tuned in as his former teammate produced the goods against a Wales side that were frankly hapless.

Gibbs-White had just come into some form as domestic football took a break for the World Cup. He scored in games against Brentford and Crystal Palace prior to the break as Forest claimed a big four points.

The 22-year-old will return to training nice and refreshed. Forest’s club-record signing is a brilliant player and he looks set for a really bright future in the game.

Forest did well to land Gibbs-White during the summer. The transfer fee was perhaps a lot to spend but Everton and Palace were also trying to complete a deal for the player.

Steve Cooper is a big fan of the ex-Wolves man. He’s managed him for the England under-17 outfit and also had him on loan at Swansea two seasons ago.

It’s clear that the Forest man is buzzing for Foden. The City star has a ridiculously high ceiling and perhaps he’s the most talented player in the England ranks right now.

Foden has been called ‘very special’ by Declan Rice. He’s a generational talent and a player that should only get better by playing for City and England.

After last night’s game, the Reds star took to Instagram. He reacted with a very short message and a couple of emojis that suggested he was somewhat emotional when Foden scored.

Gibbs-White must use Foden as an inspiration. Clearly, not many players will have the sort of talent that the City man possesses but the Forest man will feel he has a crack at playing for England at some point.
